This summer Carson B. traveled to Lynchburg, VA, to attend the Math, Science and Technology Summer Residential Governor's School. He lived in a dorm for three weeks and met other excellent students from all over the state of Virginia. Carson seemed to enjoy the college atmosphere and learning with other extremely capable students. On the day that I visited Carson, we attended classes on Cyber Security (How to Hack!), hydrology, and anatomy (we examined pigs' hearts). Classes are taught by some of the best teachers in the state (and attended by some of the best students in the state). We are now accepting applications for the 2016 Summer Residential Governor's School. You can obtain applications and information by going to vdoe.gov and searching the site for Summer Residential Governor's School. Please email me at [email protected] for more information. For more information, visit the VDOE website and search Summer Residential Governor's School. Information and applications for each school are available. The intent to apply forms are due November 13! Students may turn them in to Ms. Fincher in room 311 or ask personnel at the front desk to put them in my mailbox.
